Happy Birthday to Meee...Look Who Turned Three...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MEEEEEE!!

Hooray! Hooray!
It's my birthday and my people remembered it this year!!
I'm three - in dog years that is 21 and therefore I am old enough to vote, drive AND go clubbing!
What a great party! David and Jennifer and Ryan and Matthew and Paul and Jeannie and a whole bunch of my stuffed friends came to my party. There were THREE cakes, cupcakes, scooby snacks, milkbones and ice cream! There were balloons and presents and toys and 'doggie bags'! I'm not sure about the pink 'Hello Kitty' tablecloth - but I'm not complaining.
We even sang happy birthday (I howled along) and they let me blow out the candle. I tried to grab a cupcake at the same time...
The ice cream was my favorite! What a great birthday - this party was so much fun it almost made up for the fact that my people totally forgot my birthday last year.

Thanks everybody!

T-Ball and Dominos *People Notes*

Our stop in Huntsville on the way back to the cabin was fun, as always. Those boys are growing up so fast. Yes, we did manage to arrive in time for several t-ball games. Matthew is quite a good hitter, an excellent runner (as evidenced by the occasion where he ran ALL the bases even after being tagged out, or when he ran past his own teammate rounding second) but the outfield presents a bit of a challenge keeping his attention!

Ryan is more grown up each time we see him. He had just finished his last day of 3rd grade and had a fantastic report card to show for the year. It seems that their summer is going to be filled with travel, boy scout camp, biking, scootering and swim lessons.
David treated us all to a movie at his theatre (Monaco Pictures) and we got the full 3-D experience watching 'UP'. Very fun outing - very impressive theatre and yes, we are all goofballs!

Thanks for the enjoyable weekend! And no, the 'boys' are NOT going to beat the 'girls' at dominos next time...

T-Ball and Dominos

We stopped in Huntsville, AL to visit some of my favorite 'little people', Ryan and Matthew. They are fun to spend time with because they eat good food (and drop a lot for me), they have a huge play area inside and out, and they love to take me for long walks!
We went to see several of Matthew's t-ball games. Personally, I found the games to be quite boring (as I think Matthew also did because he spent a lot of time in the outfield filling his glove and hat with rocks) but there were a lot of 'little people' there.
I had my own little fan club by the end of the first game, and by the end of the second and third games I was getting belly rubs, ear rubs, back scratches....ahhh - life is good at the t-ball park.

Maybe I like t-ball after all.
Late in the evenings after the 'little people' were asleep I was allowed to stay up and play with the big people. They taught me how to play '42' which is some crazy domino game.
I got to play on the boys team with David and Paul (because I am a boy) and after a few quick lessons, I was playing like a pro.
Of course the boys won...Friday night, Saturday night AND Sunday night!! Boys rock!!

Done in the Sun and Heading North!

I know, I know...I am a couple of weeks late on getting this post up, but I am a busy dog - bad dog - I will try to do better. The last few weeks in Florida were....ummm....oh yea, I remember now! Hot. Hotter. Steamy. Humid. Tropical. Torrential rain. Stormy. Flooded. Buggy. Too miserable to even go to the beach if you can believe that. Almost got struck by lightning. Almost got eaten by a shark. Done with Florida. Nice in the winter, nice in the spring...not so nice in May. 'Go north little doggie, go north' is what all my instincts were telling me.

We had our last* visitors to Florida, Christine & John, who arrived for Memorial Day Weekend. They are FUN people, that's for sure! Here are some pictures of them: (they are crazy!)
(*They were almost our second to last visitors. Erik came to Florida exactly one day after we left. Hmmmm...I think he waited until we were safely across the state line before he boarded his plane and headed to Orlando!)

So then it was the old drill - pack up all our stuff, load the trailer & car, and off we went for another grand adventure! Goodbye Florida, goodbye fun in the sun...this little doggie is done in the sun for now. Happy trails!
